Hello Readers,

My name is Kevin and I have been in the hospitality business most of my life.

In 2008, I purchased my first vacation rental property and haven’t looked back. In 2012, I started my own vacation rental management firm and now manage over 100 properties. I have literally done every job you can imagine related to hospitality. I have cleaned rooms, patched holes in walls, compared marketing channels, interacted with guests, all while trying to maintain a profitable business. Managing an inventory of vacation rentals is one of the most labor intensive endeavors you can find, but it is also one of the most rewarding.

I don’t pretend to be an industry expert or some kind of vacation rental guru. I’m just a regular guy with a lot of real world experience.

I started this blog because, well first of all, I am passionate about vacation rentals. You have to be passionate about something if you plan on doing it at least 10 hours a day every day. I also wanted to share some of my knowledge with all of you. There is a lot of information online about vacation rentals, and a lot of so-called experts, but very few online sources seem to have the “nuts and bolts” knowledge of what it is truly like managing a vacation rental. I have learned a lot of things through trial and error, so I hope to share some of this with my readers.

I am also an avid traveler and of course always stay at vacation rentals instead of hotels. My wife and I love to take at least 2 vacations a year when we aren’t busy. Our recent trips include Thailand/Southeast Asia, Playa del Carmen Mexico and Maui. We hope to travel to the Philippines next.
